Book Paul to Speak

Best-selling author, TEDx speaker, and the leadership voice that moves audiences to laughter, tears, and action.

You've heard leadership speakers before. Paul is the one your audience will still be talking about six months later. Part military storytelling, part behavioural science, part actionable. His sessions land differently because they make it personal. Not personal to Paul. Personal to every leader in the room.

From elite Commando Forces to the boardrooms of Britain's biggest organisations. One mission: better leaders.

After 25 years commanding teams where leadership was the difference between life and death, Paul now brings that intensity to stages, boardrooms, and podcasts around the world. His talks draw on real stories from conflict zones, C-suite crises, and the frontline of human behaviour, delivering the kind of raw, emotional, and practical sessions that audiences remember long after the applause stops. Off stage, he runs Forensic Outcomes, a leadership diagnostics consultancy working with organisations up to £50bn capitalisation, and built DactoApp®, a diagnostic platform that measures leadership the way it should be measured: through the eyes of the people being led.

Paul Kinkaid is a former Lieutenant Colonel in the British Army who rose through the ranks of Elite Commando Forces, commanding teams in 44 countries across five continents. He was the youngest commander in any British Army operation worldwide when he led the first modern British deployment to Ukraine. As Head of the British Army's Training Development Capability, he oversaw a £196M budget and led a team of 400. He has been decorated by Queen Elizabeth II, President George W. Bush, and the Sultan of Brunei.

What audiences find most surprising is that Paul doesn't talk about command and control. He talks about care. His core insight, drawn from decades of leading in environments where the stakes were life and death, is that every interaction a leader has leaves a mark, either positive or negative - on the people around them. He calls these "red and green traces."

Most leaders have no idea what marks they're leaving. And the cost of that blindness is enormous: disengagement, turnover, stalled performance, and cultures that quietly rot from the inside.

Today, Paul works across the public, private, and charity sectors with organisations up to £50bn capitalisation, helping senior leaders and executive teams see what they can't see about themselves. He founded Forensic Outcomes and built DactoApp®, a proprietary platform that captures how leadership is actually experienced by employees across six behavioural domains. Not self-assessment. Not engagement surveys. Real data from the people being led. It gives CEOs, CHROs, and L&D leaders the intelligence they need to develop the right people in the right way.

Most leadership speakers tell you what great leadership looks like. Paul shows you what it actually feels like to the people around them. It's unorthodox, it's revealing, and it's the conversation every organisation needs but almost none are having. That's what makes his talks unforgettable.

Paul's philosophy is simple but powerful: great leadership comes from a position of care. Not softness - care. The kind that notices what others miss, communicates with intention, and builds teams where people feel safe enough to do extraordinary work. His methodology is built on three guiding principles - care, notice, and transparency, and it's been forged in environments where getting leadership wrong had consequences far beyond a missed quarterly target.

That's why Paul doesn't deliver generic keynotes. Every talk is designed to hold up a mirror, showing leaders the gap between their intention and their impact. He combines raw, personal storytelling with a forensic, data-backed framework that gives audiences something most speakers can't: not just inspiration, but a practical model they can apply the moment they walk back into their organisation. It's leadership development disguised as the best talk your audience has ever experienced.

The book that reveals why your best leaders might be your biggest blind spot, and gives you the framework to fix it.

Forensic Leadership introduces the red and green trace framework, a practical model for understanding the invisible marks every leadership interaction leaves behind. Drawing on real stories from conflict zones, boardrooms, and frontline teams, Paul lays out a step-by-step approach to diagnosing leadership behaviour, targeting development where it actually matters, and building cultures that retain talent instead of driving it away. Written for CEOs, HR leaders, managers, and anyone responsible for leading people.

You survey your people every year. The scores come back. Nothing changes. Why? Because engagement surveys measure symptoms, not causes. Paul delivers a live talk for the Kent Invicta Chamber on Forensic Leadership, the principle that every leadership interaction leaves a trace, positive or negative. Themes Paul explores across podcasts, panels, and keynotes

Every session is tailored. Here are the themes Paul explores across podcasts, panels, roundtables, and keynotes.

79% of people who resign cite lack of recognition, not salary. They're leaving because of how their leader makes them feel. Paul explores the invisible patterns behind retention, and what leaders can change tomorrow.

25 years commanding elite teams in the world's most dangerous environments taught Paul that great leadership isn't about authority. It's about care, trust, and vulnerability. The stakes are different in business. The leadership is the same.

Most organisations can't tell you what their leadership actually feels like to the people being led. That gap is where disengagement, turnover, and stalled performance quietly compound. Paul introduces a forensic approach to making leadership visible.

Billions spent, little that sticks. Why? Because most programmes are built on self-assessment, leaders rating themselves. Paul makes the case for development built on real data from the people actually being led.

One bad interaction doesn't stay in the room. It ripples through teams, departments, and into the numbers. Paul explores why the small daily moments matter more than the big CEO speeches.

When people feel safe to speak up, challenge ideas, and admit mistakes, organisations move faster and keep their best talent. When they don't, silence fills the gaps. Paul shows what psychological safety looks like in practice.

Adversity doesn't just test leaders, it builds them. Drawing on experiences in conflict zones and high-risk operations, Paul shares how to face setbacks honestly and use them as fuel for stronger leadership.

The best leaders Paul has worked with say: "Score me. Tell me how I'm doing." It takes courage and humility. But it transforms teams. Paul built DactoApp®to make this possible - a diagnostic platform that captures how leadership is actually experienced by employees, giving leaders an honest mirror they can't get from self-assessment or annual surveys.
